POW! Kids Books has hired New York Times best selling author, Michael Buckley, to act as their new editorial director. Buckley (Sisters Grimm, NERDS, Finn and the Time Travelling Pajamas) is taking over for long-time editorial director Jordan Nielsen. "I'm stepping back from the industry temporarily to start a family, but I know POW! is in good hands," Nielsen said. Publisher and CEO, Daniel Power, said he was excited by the fresh ideas Buckley plans to bring to the imprint. "POW! Kids Books saw dramatic growth under Jordan and I'm convinced Michael can do the same."

Buckley will oversee the imprint's slate of funny, honest, contemporary, and diverse picture and board books; "I'm honored to take over this exciting and important imprint. I plan to bring the same energy, humor, and excitement that parents have come to expect from POW!—as well as a few surprises!"
