Dear Friends and Neighbors, Supporters and Book Lovers- After ten wonderful years in our landmark "laboratory for creative thought" bookstore and event space 37 Main Street (corner of Main and Water), The POWERHOUSE Arena will be closing. Our lease is up, and everything must go: books, gift items, stationery, posters, toys, apparel, totes, closeouts, tables, chairs, desks, cabinets, industrial cabinets, artwork, sundry electrical items, office supplies, bookshelves, cables, theatrical lights, exhibition walls, everything. Please come visit us before we close our doors for good next month; we'll be hosting complimentary happy hours in the late afternoons, and have special one-day sales on various items...if you see something you like, make an offer! We've grown a lot since powerHouse Books, the publishing company, and The powerHouse Gallery, our exhibition program, moved here from Charlton Street in Hudson Square in 2006; we launched The POWERHOUSE Arena in 2007, The New York Photo Festival in 2008, POW! Kids Books in 2012, and have some interesting things planned we'll announce soon. 37 Main has been a wonderful home for us over the past 10 years, and Two Trees has been an amazing landlord for us during this time, and through recessions, fires, and hurricanes helped us continue to add our two cents to Dumbo's cultural vibrancy, and for that we're exceptionally grateful. Come by and say, share a glass, and take a few photos to remember the place by. We've had a blast these past ten years, and without your support we could not have done it.
